Mother’s Day Adventure

This was an exceptionally busy Mother’s Day weekend. On Friday I went back to my parent’s house in London to get ready for a birthday party they were hosting the next day. On Saturday we had 20 people over for my grandma’s 85th birthday.

On actual Mother’s Day, Matt and I spent the day with his Mom (my future mother-in-law) and ate a delicious supper over at their place. In this entire hubbub, you MAY have noticed that I didn’t do anything for my Mommy this weekend. You would be correct. Which is why Mommy and I both took Monday off from work and went on an adventure!

We went to a bunch of little weird towns and poked around abandoned places (one of the towns was appropriately named Motherwell). We almost ran out of gas, Mommy got briefly chased by a dog, and we got lost repeatedly. It. Was. Awesome.

We were actually looking for a crossroads we had come across before with some neat falling down buildings but we had no luck finding it again (we may need to purchase a map). In an antique market we visited I even managed to find a cute little red pyrex bowl for $5.00.

It was pretty much as splendid as a Monday can possibly be. I think from now on I’m only celebrating Mother’s Day Monday.
