Our latest passion at the Thimble Thief household is vintage Pyrex. Years ago I inherited a Pyrex bowl set from an Aunt, I remember liking the bright colours but other than that gave it little thought. Then I saw (on pinterest of course) a whole wall of pink Pyrex and fell irrevocably in love.
Because my fiancé is perfect, he came with me on the hunt for more pieces at some local thrift shops. As Matt posted on facebook “I figure if Gracie wants to collect something that's actually useful, I need to get on board.” As soon as we ran into a man who clearly wanted the blue bowl I’d just picked-up, I think my sweetie was hooked.
Now we’ve spent the last couple weekends looking for new pieces to add to our rapidly growing collection. My favourite is when we find a piece for $3.00 at a thrift shop that an hour before we saw for $30.00 at an antique market. Sigh, it’s lovely to be newly smitten with something!
