I’ve been feeling a little bit down the last couple of weeks. Not sure if it’s the winter blahs, or my pendulum swinging back from all the hullabaloo of getting engaged, or the overwhelming terror of planning a wedding (eep!), but whatever it is I haven’t felt quite my normal cheerful self. In the past I have found the best way to combat these feelings is an adventure with my Mommy, so that’s exactly what I did this weekend.
We set out in search of abandoned places (our favourite) and ended up visiting not one but two abandoned homes. The first of which had a pool ladder in the living room, which was odd because it was a farm, a farm which did not have a pool.
After finding the first house, we took a break and headed to the beach. I don’t know about you guys, but whenever I’m around a large body of water I have an almost irresistible urge to dive in…even if it is January. Luckily, I fought this urge and stayed dry and non-hypothermic as we headed to home number two.
We’ve actually been to this abandoned apple orchard before but Mommy wanted to head back to explore further so we did. It’s got to be one of my most favourite abandoned places of all time.
Not only is the house awesome but the property is full of junk and outbuildings and still tended beehives. I’m still not feeling 100% back to normal but this weekend did a lot to make me happy. Did you all have adventurous weekends as well?
